My last english post!

Hello guys!

Well, this is the last post I´m going to write for the rest of the carrer,so I´m really sad and can´t bear it!However,I´m not going to make you waste your time with my sorrow,so let´s this last post started.

Well, refering to my english learning experience in Universidad de Chile(my university),I can say it was very productive and funny, because I could remember all grammar terms(and I could know more gramar terms) ,I could improve my pronuntiation and could learn more words than in school. Therefore,I can say wisely I enjoyed this subject quite a lot. However, the thing I could enjoy most was writing posts for this blog(I´m serious),becuase I´ve been able to strengthen my grammar and vocabulary.

Now,refering to the most interesting thing I actually found in this subject, was Simon´s teaching, whose didactic way helps you to apply all theoretical concepts you´ve learned, therefore you will be able to improve such important things as pronuntiation and how to express with people who speak in english.

If you want me to be sensible,I didn´t find anything bad in this subject, not even something bored, because Simon makes classes very funny,so he´s able to draw attention for his classes.

However,I must recognize that the most difficult thing I had to do was talking in english, because I can hardly express myself well, but it wasn´t an excuse for tring at least, and I´m glad I could improve my pronuntiation actually because it was the thing I needed quite a lot.

Anyway,it was a very productive experience with Simon´s english classes,so I´m proud to be his student and at the same time sad for leaving this subject.Well, no matter what I´m going to do anyway because I must keep my way to become a geographer.

Well,BYE SIMON!AND THAKS FOR ALL THE THINGS YOU TEACHED US!

SEE YOU!

The best blog ever!

Hi Fellas!

I don´t really know how many posts I´ve done in this year, and how many blogs I have in the blog of mine during my stay in this subject. However, there is a blog I liked quite a lot,so I´m going to talk to you about this one.

This blog is from my classmate Cristián Campos, and his blog is called "English Blog Cristián Campos".This blog is my favourite because he publishes very interesting topics and talks about them briefly.Besides,my classmate´s blog doesn´t make many mistakes and doesn´t say any lies, therefore his posts are plausible.

The post I like the most is called "The Best Chilean: Pedro Aguirre Cerda" because he mentions the Cerda´s educational management, which the former president promoted the technical-industrial schools and he was the one who created the CORFO(National corporation of promotion of production, for the english  acronym),and my classmate explains it briefly.

Well, the elements my classmate´s blog has,are very simple: he mentions a topic and explains it completely and briefly,he doesn´t get confused with the grammar and terms, and he is direct with the things he writes. Finally, he knows how to speech by himself, and doesn´t need any help to write his posts,so the grramar terms are very plausible.

However,I believe he is missing something. In fact,he doesn´t publish any link to make his posts more attractive and interesting instead publishing photos and images in them.My classmate´s blog just talks about things, but it doesn´t have any support, specially when it´s necessary to do.So,these are his main disadvantages. That´s why,I think he can improve this blog by publishing some link on the posts he publishes(such as videos or some interesting websites).Despite this,it´s a good and complete blog.

Anyway,in my opinion it´s the best blog from this class, and I can say it stands out from the other ones.

Well, this is all I can say for now.

My childhood´s favourite game

Hello fellas!

I have always liked to play something where you can move your whole body, specially when I was a child, so now I´m going to talk about my childhood´s favourite game. This game is called "La Pinta".This game is a popular children´s game(and it still is) whose play mode is quite simple, so i´m going to explain it now.

In this game, you must run after someone until you can just touch it,then that person has to run after all the participants, untill he can touch somebody else, and so on.This game lasts until all the participants are tired and, therefore, can´t run anymore. This game("La Pinta") explains itself because a person has a diabolical power in their hand, which forces it to spread it to somebody by touching their body;then, the infected person has to do the same thing(run after somebody and spread this evil power to someone else),until all people are finally infected. That´s why, this traditional myth inspires "La Pinta" and,in fact, this myth is reflected in the game.

Well, I often used to play this game when I was a child, and I really enjoyed it.I played "La Pinta" with my former classmates in the school, and my childhood´s friends outside my house after making my homeworks, specially in the weekend, because I had more free time to play it in weekend and could enjoy playing.

I actually liked to play "La Pinta" because I could have a good time with my friends and classmates and share with all of them.Besides, you must use your legs and hands to play it,which it makes it a very active game;that´s why it´s so funny. Therefore, you´ll be able to get physical condition and a healthy body.

Well,this is it for now.

SEE YOU!

The best chilean?I don´t think so!!!!

Hello friends!

I just want to say one thing about this topic:It´s very difficult to say who´s the best chilean ever!! Even it´s very hard to me to talk about one of them! So, I´ll try to describe one person who has done very good things, and its deeds have been very important for our country; I mean Pablo Neruda,or Nefatlí Reyes Basoalto.

Ricardo Eliécer Neftalí Reyes Basoalto(Parral,12/07/1904-Santiago of Chile,23/09/1973) was a very important poet and a chilean comunist militant, and he is one of the most important poets in history. In fact, he won the Nobel prize for literature and received a honorary degree for The University Of Oxford. Besides, he was an important political activist and a prominent senator.

Neruda has written many poetic books, which the most important are:"Veinte poemas de amor y una canción desesperada";"España en el corazón";"Cien sonetos de amor",and many others. He defended our country from Videla´s oppressive government(actually,he oppressed the comunist party, where Neruda was an integrant),publishing very controversial articles and criticizing his governmental management. Finally, he was the Winnipeg manager, the ship that took about two thousand immigrants from France to Chile.

Anyway, his deeds are very important because they helped to chilean people and inspired many people for their carrers and deeds(I don´t really remember who they are,but I´m sure he actually did!).Besides, his deeds have always been very representative for us all.

Finally,if I had to ask him something or say him just one thing (if I could meet him, because he is already dead),it would be:Is Chile a big country,or is Chile a long and very narrow piece of land? Well, I know I can´t do it because he is dead, but I believe it would be worth meeting him.

Well, guys. This is all I can say for now.

SEE YOU LATER!

Job is Job.

Hi guys!

I´ve always thought about my future, specially what I´m going to work as. If I had to choose one job, a career or something I can do in my life and get job satisfaction, I´d like to be an anthropologist, without ignoring my passion for geography, and having them complement each other.Actually,I´ve wanted to be an anthropologist since I was a teenager, because anthropology mixes culture, history and social behaviours from people in general all over the world; in other words,it mixes some things I like, that´s why I really love anthropology. I can say that I´ll enjoy being an anthropologist, because I would make one of my dreams come true, and I´d work for something I like to.That´s why,it would be satisfying for me to do this job, because I ´ll be able to know the heritage of all countries, their cultural groups and history, and I´d experience new things in there.Besides, I´ll be able to make contact with all of them.

If my memory serves me well,I know a person who has this kind of job.He is my former teacher of cultural anthropology,Carlos Lange, who is trying to get a doctorate grade at Bilbao,Spain. He knows quite a lot about this topic, and makes a good job with his profession; that´s why I liked his classes.Besides, he inspired me to follow my way towards my degree, and the things I want to do in my life.

Anyway, refering me to the current situation of anthropology in Chile, this job isn´t neither very expanded nor known anywhere in the country. Therefore,if you want to be an anthropologist, you must go out to another country, because there isn´t any labour camp in Chile. However,I won´t give up in making my dream come true, instead its current situation,so I´ll keep fighting for it! Besides,I believe this job will be valued and recognized one of these days!

Well, this is it for now. We´ll be in touch!

SEE YOU LATER,FELLAS!

Famous people,not anything!

Hello guys!!

This time I´m going to talk to you about a person, not anyone but a famous person who almost everybody ignores. He is Jean Michel Jarre,a french music who plays electronic music and founded its bases;in fact,he is a pioneer of this musical genre(with his album Oxygene actually) together Vangelis,Enya,Kreaftwerk, and many others, and established some world records(biggest crowd at the concert in 1979 and 1991,both of them in france).Besides,he is a philanthropist and a person with a big social consciousness;in fact,he is a Unicef good will ambassador since a few time ago.

Well,I really want to meet him because I really love his music(in fact,I really love electronic music) and always wanted to go to one concert of him.Besides,he´s very sociable and a good person, and he is multi-faceted.It would make one of my dreams become true actually!
If you want me to be sensible,I would talk about many themes with them, such as music(obviously),current global problems, children and their role in the Earth, his adventures, social topics and life things. If you already realized,I´m a fan of him,and I won´t change it!!!

In my opinion,Jean Michel is a very good person if you want to meet him, because he´s extrovert and very sociable, and he is able to speak in many languages, like english and spanish;therefore, you won´t have any problems to talk with him.He is also a successful and skillful guy, specially with the keyboard. He´s very artistic and respects culture in general;it would be worth it to meet him if you are an artistic person and like to listen to music(specially electronic),because you would share a lot of things and you ´d have many things in common with him. Finally,he´s handsome(instead of being 62 years old!),generous and very polite,so you´ll have a good partner to spend a good time, specially if you want to go to France(specifically In Lyon, his birthplace).

Well,This is all I can say about this topic.See you Later.

Bye!!

PS:If you want to know his musical work, listen to his most famous song:

English

Hello guys!
This time I´m going to talk to you about my thoughts about learning English, and why I want to;in fact,I like this language in general, such as other ones.I can also say that it´s easy for me to learn it,because I have a good skill in learning things like this.
However,I´m not telling that english is just piece of cake, because you have to train your spelling, your grammar and your expression capabilities;therefore,it´s not simple actually, even if you don´t have language capabilities.Besides, you must show some interest in this theme so you can get inspired and you can learn more. Finally, you must train hard your pronouncing skills, because it´s a very important part of this learning process, and you´ll be able to improve your expression capabilities.
I think it´s useful not to learn just english, but other languages in general(such as german, french, welsh, russian, portuguese, chinese, etc.),because you can be able to socialize with other people in a diferent country, and you can also use them as an advantage if you have such problems as getting lost in an unknown city, searching for a park or a specific geographic location, meeting with someone who speaks in other language(even in a business rendezvous),etc. In fact, I believe this will be very useful for my future profession as a geographer, because I want to travel all around the world for work business and participate in many work meetings.Besides,I would take advantage of making my dream, which is travelling all around the world and meeting its countries and culture. Finally,I would have a very good developed skill in learning other languages and knowing other places.Anyway,I would have a great advantage in making my dream a reality.
Well, this is it for now.I would suggest you learn some languaje,or improve your english!

A perfect day by myself

Hi fellas!
This time I´m going to talk to you about a perfect day by my standings and my point of view. But, I´m going to catch my attention in a Lou Reed´s song so I can express my thoughts about this theme.
Listening to this song, I can say that it is something we all want, neither considering ideologies nor points of views; and Lou Reed puts this desire in that song.Anyway, let´s get this blog started!
Refering to this theme, If I had to spend with anyone a perfect day, I would do it with all the people I love, specially with my girlfriend(if I had!),because I´ll be able to share my happiness with the ones I want.If I had to share it in anywhere in this beautiful world,I would go to Malta,Santorini(Greece) or Spain, because these countries are very beautiful, and you know I like to walk quite a lot and explore different places. Finally,If I had to do anything in that day, I would celebrate it,making a barbeque with my people and playing a basketball match, because these are some thing I like quite a lot and I usually do,except barbeque(I sometimes go there).
I have spent days like this in my life;in fact,I´ve spent many days like this in my life.If my memory serves me well,I remember I was in my great-grandparents´house celebrating "Fiestas Patrias".We made a barbeque and danced "cueca" and I remember I talked quite a lot with relatives and a cousin of mine. With him,I spent a good time, listening to music and talking about life things and more.I really enjoyed that day, because I really had a perfect day such as I want, although i hadn´t gone out the country.Anyway,I spent a very good day, such as Reed says in that song.
Well, this is all I can say about this theme.I hope you to had spent days like this.
SEE YOU LATER,PALS!

A great damned Shopping!

Hello guys!
Well, I´m not a fan of shopping, because I´m not obsessed with it.I mean,I don´t like to buy things unless it´s really necessary. But, I like to take a walk in a mall and see the things there, specially technological devices(such as cell phones, new generation videogames consoles,HD plasma TVs,keyboards and computers),music shops(specially "Feria del Disco")and clothes.Anyway, the main shops I like to visit(and I do it when I have time),are "Feria del Disco",department shops("Falabella","Ripley","Paris"),"Casa Royal" and others.I would really like to talk to you about all these shops, but as I received orders to write abotu just one,I´m going to talk about just one shop;this shop will be "Casa Royal",an electronic and electric shop.
This shop sells a lot of things I love,I mean cell phones, technological devices, etc.;that´s way I really love it! Besides,it´s cheaper than anothers shops if you want to buy cables, electronic devices and accessories, tools, cell phones, electronic devices and many things related to technology, and they are all of good quality,so it´s a very good option of shopping if you like these things. If my memory serves me well, the first time I went there, was in Santiago five years ago; I was with my grandfather that time because I was a child. We were there because a cable from my videogame console(my very old playstation) spoiled and I couldn´t play in it.I remember he bought a serial connector and an extension cable, and after arriving my grandparents´house he fixed that cable.Currently,I still have this great memory because I started loving technological devices.
Anyway,I buy something there as often as I can, specially if I need something and have time,so I don´t always visit there. In fact, because of academic issues I can´t go there as often as I want!(not even in another shops I like). Well,I remember that the last one I bought, was a scientific calculator in a "Casa Royal"shop in the Plaza
Vespucio mall(La Florida),because the former one had been stolen.Well, there were many things there, even new generation videogame consoles(Playstation 3 and an XBOX 360, I remember) and many cell phones.
And well my dearest friends, this is it for now!You should try shopping as often as you can(if you like it)!
FAREWELL!

My Childhood´s "National Holidays"!(Fiestas Patrias)

Hello,my dearest guys!
Today,I am going to talk to you about a very good memory about this issue, which dates back five years ago(if my memory serves me well).Well, I was living in Casas Viejas(Puente Alto) at that time,so I spent that day in my former house.I remember I was with my grandparents,my mom,my sister and her dad, and some family members;actually,I was with my cousins and my aunts and uncles, and we all made meat empanadas.I also remember we had a clay oven, which we used to cook them.I played videogames with my cousins in my playstation console, while we eat empanadas;I ate five or six actually.Meanwhile, the rest of my family was talking and listening to folk music. We were all very happy;all of us.We shared a lot with other people and celebrated those Fiestas Patrias,as they shouldbe:with your family and very enthusiastic.I really enjoyed that day, because I could share with the people I love, and had fun all that day. That´s way,it was so memorable.
However, comparing my view of Fiestas Patrias as a child with the current one,I can say that it doesn´t change my optimist point of view, despite not celebrating national holidays or Fiestas Patrias(it celebrates the first government reunion in Chile, because Fernando 7th was arrested by Napoleon[you can correct me if I´m wrong with this point]),because the national identity revolves around this event, and much people often confuse national holidays with our independence(our independence took part on February 12th,1818 actually).I also think that I didn´t really have to celebrate Fiestas Patrias this year, because there are a lot of problems in our country(specially in this "bicentenary" of government reunion), which have not solved, even in the centenary. Therefore,I believe we must do something to change the real situation in Chile, specially in such important event as the "bicentenary".
Well,I hope you to had had a very good Fiestas Patrias day and amused quite a lot

Why do people have to demonstrate?

Hello Guys!
You know?I´ve seen how people have to demonstrate to enforce their rights trought demonstrations(specially the students demonstrations),and I can say that I agree. We must always fight against something that oppresses us to reach a common good,so that we can expose the real problems that a country has;and I believe that its action is justifiable. In fact, they want to establish a better and free education policy, and fight against educational profit in general. However,as I can see, they ignore that there are many problems in our country, and education is not just the only problem.Besides, their fighting metods are becoming obsolete, because the chilean government knows them and that´s way knows how to ruin their right to demonstrate.I can also say that they are fighting for just one thing, and don´t want to see the real problems that Chile has(poor health, bad laws, partial justice,a bad government,etc.).I believe that they must renew their methods of struggle, and fight together alongside doctors, public employees and all people in general against a common cause:government mismanagement, which makes our country suffer actually.
Refering to my position about the demonstrations,I have a divided opinion, such as I explained.I agree with them, because they can expose the other side of a country;however, they have old development ways(marches for example)and keep an inertia which must be removed.Besides, there are a lot of ways which they can improve their concepts, such as silenced "funas"(a special way of boycott which is organized without attracting attention and attacking a flashpoint),imposing dialogue which it exposes all the problems in this country directly to the mr.president,etc.Anyway,we must open our own minds about how to deal this, and how we can solve all these problems which affect everyone equally.
Because of the previous reasons,I decided not to take part to these demonstrations, and I shall not, unless there is a new concept of demonstrating, and this new concept goes and acts for the solution of our real problems in this country.
I hope you to understand my position, such as I accept yours.
Sensibly.
A pluralist and sensible person.

A book is not just a book!

Hello!
Well,I haven´t read a book a long time ago actually, but just papers(for an academic bussiness) and the newspaper, which I read it all weekends. However, I had read a good book four years ago(if my memory serves me well).
Anyway, this book was "Viaje al miedo"(journey into fear),which was written by Eric Ambler (a famous brittish writter).I chose to read it because I was really bored and hadn´t anything good to do,so I decided to read a book so I don´t get more bored and bored;in fact,I like to read quite a lot.Well, this book is about Graham,a specialist engineer in weapons design, who travels to the port of Istanbul for bussiness and never used a gun. However,he starts a journey for saving his life when he accidentally gets involved in a mafia case about drugs and guns.He has to face his biggest fears and use for first time in his life a gun.Anyway,it was a very good book.
I like this book because it mixes suspense with action, and goes into our biggest fears, which are embodied by a common man.Besides, all its characters are directly involved in the history and always have an important input, which makes it more attractive. In fact, because of these reasons,I really enjoyed to read it!Well,I always read in my restroom, even if I have to study, and it´s my favourite place because I feel comfortable there.
And finishing this theme,I believe that reading is a good hobby, because you exercise your mind and brain, you get more information and you can make opinions, you can get more intelligent and you can get more memory than before.Besides,it helps you to avoid many problems, such as memory problems, poor abilities to express, bad speech, limited vocabulary, etc. So,why not to start a reading habit?Don´t be lazy.
COME ON!!!

Exhibition

Hi fellas!
I was remembering a very good event in my life. This event was going to a FIDAE exhibition when I was 9 years old. In fact, that exhibition took place in August 1999, in Arturo Merino Benítez airport,in Santiago,Chile. If my memory serves me well, I went with my uncle. I decided to go because I suppossed that  It would be funny;and I wasn´t wrong.Anyway, I saw many planes, from the oldest ones to the latest ones. There were a lot of them, actually. I remember with a lot of joy how my uncle explained to me the history of its creation and construction, why these planes were very important in the era when they were built, who were the main pioneers, etc.I really enjoyed so much this event, because it was very funny, the staff were very kind with us,I could be with a person who I admire, and because I could do something productive in that day, instead staying in my house and being lazy in it.Well, after walking around all the museum with him,we went to eat a hamburger,we could rest because we were really tired because of walking so much, and finally we left the restaurant. He took me home in his car,and he went to his own home.Anyway,it was a very good day because I could enjoy with someone an unique event in Chile, which was very complete and satisfactory, the staff was very prepared to everything and were very professional, and the exhibition was very easy to understand. I think that 2010 FIDAE exhibition would be much better than the one I remember, because there would be more planes than before. So be it!!!

What I would like to do

I would like to travel around the world to know different cultures, different ways of life, landscapes, etc. I would like to do that, because I like culture and environment, and I like to explore and experience new things . In fact, I´ve always desired to do it,even since I was a child. Specifically, I would like to travel to countries such as Andorra,Republic of Georgia,Lesotho,Armenia,Malta,Santorini(Greece),etc. In other words,I would like to travel to countries that are off the beaten track, because I´m not interested in well known countries(such as Spain,France, etc.),but in ignored countries, which are unknown for the others.
I really think I would be good at this, because I´m an open-minded person,I almost don´t have any prejudices, and I´m very active. Besides, I can learn another languages and I can speak in english(Not perfectly, but well enough),and I really like to listen to another people. In other words, I´m a sociable and curious, and a good walker. I think that it´s a very good activity you can do in your life, because you can make many friends, you can know new places you haven´t been to before, and it´s a way of doing physical exercise. Finally,I can say that if we all travel to another country, we will be able to know all this beautiful world and all its secrets.
